Daniel Evans, Jr., DVMDr. Evans graduated from The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. He founded Massillon Animal Hospital in September 1981. Before entering veterinary school, Dr. Evans served as a combat medic in Vietnam with the 9th Infantry Division. He is the author of the book, Doc: Platoon Medic, which is based on his true life experiences as a 21-year-old Army medic who soon became a seasoned veteran of emergency medicine.

Dr. Evans, who is now retired, is married with two adult children and four granddaughters. He also has a golden retriever named Zoe. In his free time, Dr. Evans enjoys golfing, traveling and spoiling his grandchildren.
